Josh Kanner

Josh Kanner is Founder & CEO of Smartvid.io. Most recently he was co-founder of Vela Systems, a pioneer in the use of web and tablet workflows for construction and capital projects. The company was successfully acquired by Autodesk in 2012 and has been rebranded as BIM360 Field. Prior to founding Vela Systems, Josh was responsible for product management and strategy at Emptoris (now part of IBM), a web-based strategic sourcing software company. Kanner graduated from Brown University and earned an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He enjoys hiking, skiing, travel and being a dad to his two boys.

Lakshmi Shenoy

Lakshmi Shenoy is a recent transplant to the Tampa Bay region and is the CEO of Embarc Collective, formerly known as the Tampa Bay innovation hub. Embarc Collective exists to help Tampa Bay a prime destination for diverse startup talent and to be a central landing zone for the Tampa Bay startup community. Before moving to Tampa Bay, Lakshmi was in Chicago and served as the Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at 1871, the #1 university-affiliated business incubator in the world. Prior to 1871, Lakshmi focused on growth strategies for a variety of businesses through her work at Prophet Brand Strategy, Time Inc., Procter & Gamble and Leo Burnett. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Lakshmi was recognized as one of 20 Rising Brand Stars by AdAge in 2017.

Andrew Ackerman

Andrew is recovering consultant turned serial entrepreneur, startup mentor and angel investor. He is the Managing Director at Dreamit, currently in charge of the UrbanTech accelerator program. Andrew is also a contributing writer to Fortune, AlleyWatch, The 74 Million, et. al. Andrew has founded two companies and has a keen appreciation for how hard it is to build a successful startup, even under the best of circumstances. He
speaks Hebrew fluently as well as some Spanish, French, Japanese and JavaScript.

Arol Wolford

Arol Wolford, pioneer and passionate advocate of building intelligence, is the founder and President of VIMaec. Arol and his team spent 30 years developing Construction Market Data into a global leader in building. CMD grew from 5 employees in 1982 to 1,300 employees in 2000. CMD Group was sold to Reed Elsevier in 2000 for $300 million. In 2000 he became a board member of Revit Technology Corporation, creator of the first parametric building modeler. Revit was sold to Autodesk in 2002 for $133 million.

Tara Roscoe

Over her 20 years of experience, Tara has developed a design approach that is holistic, interactive, and engaging. Her portfolio hosts a broad spectrum of work and is particularly strong in corporate workplace interiors. Her endless curiosity and ability to explore unique ideas while solving some of her clients’ toughest challenges has led to her work on some of the today’s largest and most complex real estate, strategy, and design projects.

Tara is an active member of the interior design community. She has taught at the Pratt Institute and the University of Manitoba and is a regular visiting reviewer at numerous institutions including the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), the New York School of Interior Design, The New School/Parsons, and Ryerson. She speaks frequently at industry events including the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), CoreNet, and the Real Deal.

Bill Allen

Bill Allen is CEO, and President of EvolveLAB, Disrupt Repeat, and On Point Scans. These firms synergistically help Architects, Engineers, and Contractors optimize the built environment. He has over 14 years of experience managing technology for buildings in the AEC industry for cutting edge firms. Bill has experience lecturing on staff as a College Instructor for the University of Nebraska Omaha and regularly speaks at such conferences as Autodesk University, the Central States BIM Workshop, as well as is a keynote speaker for firms implementing change. Bill served on the BIM Board of Omaha, Central States Revit Workshop Board, and the board of the Rocky Mountain Building Information Society.

Paul Doherty

Paul, the Chairman and CEO of TDG (The Digit Group www.thedigitgroup.com) as seen in Forbes as “Changing the World”, Bloomberg TV and reported by CNBC as one of America's Business Titans, is a Registered Architect and one of the global industry's most sought-after thought leaders, strategists and integrators of process, technology and business. A Senior Fellow of the Design Futures Council and an International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Fellow, Paul is an award- winning architect who is currently working on Smart Cities real estate development projects throughout the world.

Cliff Moser

Cliff Moser, LEED, AIA, is a licensed architect with over 30 years of experience in healthcare design and construction. Author of Architecture 3.0; the Disruptive Design Practice Handbook (Routlege 2014), his research includes rules-based and generative digital design systems, and collaboration through lean and agile rational-based project controls and quality management structures. Trained in mediation and arbitration services, Cliff is an innovator in developing the requirements for the instruments of service for digital design and construction, and has served in healthcare leadership roles in design: Perkins + Will and RTKL; construction: AECOM, and healthcare owner organizations – Kaiser Permanente and Stanford Healthcare.


Benjamin Welle

Director of Energy Lab

Benjamin is the Director of Energy Lab at Perkins + Will. His role is to develop innovative design methods for the next generation of architects working towards the goal of zero emission buildings. His work focuses on the integration of parametric design tools with energy, daylighting, and thermal comfort simulation tools for use in multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) environments using parallel and distributed computing. Benjamin received a B.S. in Energy Engineering and M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering-Atmosphere/Energy from Stanford University, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering-Design Construction Integration fromStanford’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE). He is a registered professional mechanical engineer in the State of California.

John Haymaker

DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH

John Haymaker, Ph.D., AIA, LEED AP, serves as Perkins+Will’s Director of Research,overseeing the firm’s formal investigations into material performance, designprocess, building technology, resilience, regeneration, and human health andwellness in the built environment. John works closely with a team of researchers,designers, and academics to expand the firm’s knowledge base in pursuit ofstate-of-the-art design solutions. He also oversees Perkins+Will’s ResearchLabs, Innovation Incubator program, and nonprofit research arm, AREA Research,which conducts studies on the built environment and publishes its findings forfree public use.

Previously a professor of civil engineering at Stanford University, and a professor of architecture and building construction at Georgia Institute of Technology, John has contributed more than 80 professional and academic articles on topics such as design process communication, optimization, and decision-making. A frequent speaker at industry and academic events, his research has earned top honors from the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of CivilEngineers, FIATECH, and the National Academy of Engineering.

Cory Brugger

Cory Brugger is an industry recognized leader in the integration of advanced technology for architecture and the built environment. Cory’s multidisciplinary approach to practice leverages over fifteen years’ experience focused on innovation for projects ranging from residential design-build to high-rise office towers. Specializing in the implementation of building information modeling (BIM) and virtual design and construction (VDC), Cory has successfully overseen integrated project delivery on award winning buildings globally. As Chief Technology Officer he directs the vision and team dedicated to the development and application of innovative technology and the implementation of new processes for design and construction.

KP Reddy

KP Reddy is a globally recognized authority in the Built Environment. With over 25 plus years, he has been a technologist, subject- matter expert, founder, CEO, investor, and author. He is a Civil Engineer from The Georgia Institute of Technology, the author of 2 books - BIM for Owners and Developers and What you know about startups is wrong. KP has had many roles including sold three large BuiltTech companies, ran Enterprise Transformation and Gehry Technologies (Frank Gehry) and was the General Manager of ATDC, one of the oldest incubators at Georgia Tech.

Katie Sullivan

Katie Sullivan is part of the founding team and leads marketing & communications at HqO, a tenant experience platform for commercial real estate that helps landlords to create places people love. Prior to HqO, Katie was a director at marketing and PR agencies in Boston, helping high-growth tech startups at various stages of development. Katie graduated from Northeastern University with a BA in corporate communications.

Michael Beckerman

Michael Beckerman is the CEO of CREtech, the largest platform devoted to commercial real estate technology. Headquartered in New York, CREtech produces sold out events throughout the country, has built the largest directory of startups and influencers in the space, the most respected research and aggregates the top industry news stories daily. Michael previously spent 25 years in the public relations industry having built Beckerman Public Relations into the largest firm in the industry specializing in the real estate industry.

Jason Doyle

Jason has spent 20 years in the real estate tech space. He joined Homes.com as a startup in 1998 where he helped grow it to a successful exit in 2004 after which he stayed on as VP/GM. Jason led Homes.com to tremendous growth and made numerous acquisitions of other real estate tech and marketing service providers before joining RealPage, a leader in the property management software business, as Senior Vice President. Jason is currently CEO of Gridics where they are revolutionizing the ability to visualize and interpret site-specific development potential as allowed by zoning.

LD Salmanson

L.D. has extensive experience founding, advising, and investing in leading private technology companies. Prior to founding Cherre, L.D. served as Executive Director of Oppenheimer’s Private Shares Group, after Oppenheimer acquired GreenCrest Capital, a firm he co-founded to enable pre-IPO transactions in some of the largest private technology companies in the world, including Facebook, twitter, and Uber. Prior to that L.D. served as the Principal of Knight Capital Group’s Private Equity Fund, and previously as a captain in the Israeli Army. L.D. earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, and is a Joseph Wharton Merit Scholar. L.D. also holds a B.A., LL.B., and LL.M. in finance and International Law from IDC Herzliya.

Jason Kamen

Jason Kamen leads the West Coast for WhyHotel as the Director of Real Estate & Partnerships. Based in San Francisco, Jason has been working in real estate development and operations since 2002. Most recently, Jason led the West Coast Ops division of Crescent Heights, a national developer and owner of properties across all asset types. Jason ran all of Crescent Heights’ ground-up development operations with a team of over 150 personnel, focusing on ultra-luxury apartment rentals, including NEMA in San Francisco – a 754-unit project that leased up in 6 months under Jason’s stewardship and has maintained a 95%+ occupancy since stabilizing in 2013; as well as Ten Thousand in Beverly Hills with rents topping $70,000 per month.

Edie Kirkman

Edie Kirkman is the Chief Product Officer at InfoTycoon. She leads strategy, design, development and integrated partner solutions to deliver a best-in-class customer experience to the multi-family industry. Edie has 20+ years of experience creating enterprise software for startups and global brands such as UPS and IHG, and creating customer-centered experiences for millions of users.

Everett Lynn

Everett is the CEO and Founder of Amenify, a technology platform that manages amenity services, events, and brand partnerships for apartment portfolios. Since inception in 2016, Amenify has expanded from San Francisco to dozens of markets across the country. Everett is a member of ULI and the Olympic Club, and volunteers with the CleanTech Open to find new technologies for the real estate sector.

Kevin Barnes

Kevin Barnes is Vice President & Managing Director of Ferguson Ventures, the corporate venture capital and strategic partnering arm of Ferguson focused on innovation and disruption. Ferguson is the largest U.S. distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies and pipe, valves and fittings. The company is also a major distributor of HVAC equipment, fire protection systems, waterworks and industrial products and services. Ferguson has sales of $16.7 billion and approximately 27,000 associates in 1,400 locations.

Don Bowden

Don Bowden has been part of homebuilding his entire life. He was brought up in a family homebuilding company, and learned commercial construction working at an early age. He returned to the family business in 1983 and began integrating technology, integrated systems, and software to become an industry pacesetter in improving cycle time and schedule efficiency. It worked, as the company grew from less than 100 homes per year to over 500, maintaining profitability throughout that growth. Don’s vision of the blockchain and the functions of his company and advisory group represent the extension of the commitment to the industry to reach perpetual management control and seamless, paperless transaction processing of all construction industry

William Akridge

William Akridge led the early-stage investing team at Cyclops Family Partnership, the family office of Akridge Real Estate, a commercial development and property management firm in Washington, DC. He spearheads Cyclops' investments into technology modernizing the built world: construction, real estate, automation, and logistics. William has years of experience in real estate, property management, and leadership of both for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises. An authority on venture investing and built world technology, William was a featured speaker at the 2018 BuiltWorlds Venture Conference in Chicago.

Amol Naik

Amol S. Naik is the City of Atlanta’s Chief Resilience Officer. In this capacity, he leads the Mayor's Office of Resilience and partners with the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities network to address the physical, social, and economic challenges that Atlanta faces as a city. As a key cabinet member in the Bottoms Administration, Amol oversees policy and programming that supports a more equitable and resilient Atlanta. Previously, Amol held several senior roles in the technology sector, including on the Public Policy and Legal teams at Google and Google Fiber. Most recently, Amol was a Director at Atlanta based MailChimp. A seasoned attorney, Amol practiced law at the Atlanta office of an international law firm, focusing on election law, government affairs and complex commercial litigation.

Tim Keane

Tim Keane was appointed Commissioner of City Planning by Mayor Kasim Reed on July 1, 2015. Tim is responsible for design, permitting, zoning, preservation, housing, community development and transportation planning in this role. Prior to this appointment Tim was Director of Planning, Preservation and Sustainability for the City of Charleston, South Carolina for 11 years. Tim worked for Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. on all matters related to planning, urban design, preservation and economic development. Tim was also the first Planning Director for the Town of Davidson, North Carolina.

Tim has a Bachelor’s degree in Planning and Master’s degree in Architecture from the
University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Tim was a Knight Fellow at the University of Miami
School of Architecture.
